Cash on HA?

I posted this a few days ago on the HA board, but did not get any responses. Since I leave in a week, perhaps someone on staff can answer my question. Thanks.

This will be my first cruise on HA, and in reading over their brochure, I see that they do NOT cash personal checks at all. Perhaps RCI doesn't any longer either, but I am used to cashing a check for tips (those things not required on HA!) at the end of the cruise. I normally don't need much cash otherwise.

It looks like Travelers Checks are the way to go other than carrying the cash itself. No mention of ATM, and cash advances carry fees. Getting cash for the casino sounds like a cash advance, too, and they say there are 'restrictions'.

Any other thoughts?

Travellers's checks (you can cash onboard) or ATMs seem to be your best answer. You will have a safe in your cabin, so a bit of extra cash would still be safe.

Unlike some cruise lines, they do charge a 3% service fee for casino charges on your card.
