Has anyone used the coupons that come in Currents or Crown & Anchor magazines? I've never thought to ask my agent about them. Do the discount internet agencies (bestpricecruises, buycruises, etc.) accept them even though their prices are already pretty much the lowest? If so, would they just negotiate that with the cruise line or would it impact their commission?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

We always use the coupons we get in our Captains Club magazine. We just fill them in for the cruise and send to Celebrity in Miami.... we get 125 dollars off. Never been rejected. Since we book our own cruises, not sure how it would affect TA commission.. That said, if I was using a TA, I would'nt care how it affected commission.
Some of the discount agencies will discount the coupon 10 to 20 percent. (my $125 coupon was discounted 16% so I got 105. off)
But, use the coupon!! It's money in the pocket.
We just booked two cruises with RCCL and used coupons on both of them.
Got $125.00 on our upcoming Splendour of the Seas cruise and used the one from "Crown and Anchor". Just gave it to our TA and they sent in and was taken off before we paid the balance of our bill.

The coupons being discussed come out of the magazines received for being a member of various cruiselines past guest clubs and are offered to the customers who have sailed with a specific cruise line before. After you take your first cruise , be sure to sign up for that lines previous guest club and you will receive emails and mailings and magazines with coupons for specific cruises or for other credits or benefits.
I booked through cruisequick. They automatically discount the coupons 16%.
Some of the discount agencies are discounting 20%. I saved so much money on the cruise, I didn't really care! I think it's because their prices are so low.. not sure why exactly. But, I will say they have given me a price reduction already without being asked. (it showed up on my credit card statement)
Anyone out there know why the on line agencies discount the coupons?
Maybe a handling fee to scrounge up more dollars?
