We sailing on the Constellation 11/15 out of San Juan and booked our own air. We're experienced travelers and are self sufficient, but have never been to San Juan. Unlike other port and/or tourist cities we have visitied, I have had zero luck tracking down good info on the basics....distance to port, travel time, metered or flat rate taxis, other shuttle options, etc..
Any advice, guidance, or PR web-links with actual information would be appreciated!
Hi Mbutte,
When you arrive in the San Juan airport, go down and pick up all your luggage. Once you have everything, look for a taxi stand inside, where you'll get a ticket with a total price and that will depend on how many pieces of luggage you have. Then you go outside and get in like for a taxi, just add a tip to the amount.
Time to get to the port is around 30 minutes, depending on traffic, but very easy and painless, much faster and easier than using the cruiseline transfers and going by bus.
While in San Juan, please be careful and stay away from the wall. It is not a pretty sight over there. If I remember right it is up and to the left (with your back to the water) of the ships.
