Default transport from tampa or orlando area to ft lauderdale

We are taking a cruise out of Ft Lauderdale but will be flying into Tampa a few days before to visit relatives who live between Tampa and Orlando. We figured we would rent a care one way to drive from their place to Ft Lauderale. Is there any sort of rapid transit that connects these areas or shuttle service? How about train service? If so, is it convenient?

There is a bus service - Cruise Connections, not sure about the details, but I think they have a website. My in-laws used it to go from Central Florida to Fort Lauderdale.
