Default best boarding time

We live in Fort Lauderdale and can go on board whenever we want to (no airplanes or travel problems). What would you suggest is the best boarding time: to be first - or last?

Personally we really enjoyed getting on the ship early, getting settled in, having a leisurely lunch, wandering the ship to get our bearings before everyone came on.

We are early people too -- normally by 4 or 5, we are all unpacked, had a cocktail and usually can get a nap in before dinner.

My documents say my boarding time is 1pm but I've heard other people say they got to the ship at 10 am or so. Why do you suppose my boarding time is so late? Perhaps to stagger in the travelers?
Thanks,
Chig

Dont think so they are trying to stagger. Many of the passengers arrive the day of the cruise so people will be boarding all day long.

10 seems early as they need time to clean the cabins and areas after the previous cruise passengers leave. Getting there for lunch is nice.

We always try to be there before 12:00 when the departure time is 4:00. The documents say boarding is at 1:00 but we have never had a problem boarding early. We like to find our cabin, drop off the carryon bags, and get a cheeseburger and fries on the pool deck to watch all the passengers arrive.

Regards,
Thomas

Thanks you two; now I have a better idea. I think we'll get to the port by about noon or so. I am just soooo excited! We sail a week from today! Woo-hoo! **
