Default transportation to Port Canaveral

What is the best (convenient and low cost) way to get from Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral, and back?
Is a one day, one way car rental the best?

Probably yes. You will drive approx. 3.5 hours without speeding ticket.

Sorry, Jon. I mixed it up with Port Everglades. I don't know about Orlando/Port Canaveral.

Rental Car could be your best bet. About an hour or less from MCO to Port Canaveral.

Or you can gt a shuttle I think handled by Mears.

I've been advised from many sources that a rental car is the best way to go for both convenience and economy. However, it isn't easy getting any satisfying information for a detail-oriented traveller like myself!

PLEASE - can someone, anyone offer a few words of wisdom about which car rental agencies operate in the Port Canaveral area? Apparently my travel agent is having difficulty getting this information. We want to rent a car in Orlando, sightsee for a full day, drive to the coast on our sailing date and drop off the car. Upon return, we want a car to drive for another 5 days, and the ability to drop it off in Orlando. Of course, what we don't want are drop-off fees, high rates, or any hassle getting to and from the ship.
