Default What time to get to the port?

I've read posts about getting to the port as early as 10am or 11am. Does this include Port Canaveral where embarkation is said to begin @ 1:30pm for the Carnival Fantasy? First Cruise!!

11:30 is fine. You'll be on the ship ready to eat lunch and explore!

You should be able to get onboard before 1:30pm. They place that time to keep people from getting antsy if they run behind a little. Usually you can get onboard sometime around noon.

You always get on earlier than what it states. We usually get on about 12 or 12:30, when ever we get there.

Last year, Carnival told us 1:00 on the phone, but after reading the boards, we found out we could get on earlier....we got to the port around 11:15 and was on board and eating lunch by 12:15. Our room wasn't done yet but we just explored the ship. At the port, the luggage guys talked us into letting them handle our carry-ons too to save us from having to worry about them...BUT our luggage didn't arrive to our door til 9pm so we had no way to freshen up for dinner and the evening. So I wouldn't suggest you let them have your carry-ons. Even if your room isn't ready, you can still drop off your carryons in the room and put them in the closet.

I emailed RCI a month or so ago and they said that we could board the shpi at 11 or 12 o'clock for a 5pm disembarkation.

i would plan to get to the terminal around noon time. Sometimes if you get there too early you have to wait around for the check-in desks to even open.
