I had another post pulled; what rule did I violate? Although I hide my email address from posters, I thought administrators can still see my email address so as to be able to send me email when I violate board rules. If this is not the case, I will un-hide my email address so that you can send an explanation. Just let me know.
As I stated earlier, we have no special viewing and if we cannot click on your name and have your address come up as a reply then we can not e-mail you. As for your post, it was inflammatory and that is fine if it is in a private e-mail message to us but publically posting it is not and can be seen as only bneing done to attack individuals and start trouble, that is a violation of the TOS. All the staff have their e-mail right up there for all to see and if you have questions or complaints of a personal nature then you can e-mail us directly. Personal attacks on the boards about anyone, staff or poster is not allowed and you cannot do it. We try very hard to work for the good of the entire board and community and no one individual and the rules are posted for all to see and follow. When you violate these rules, it is deleted.
One of my posts disappeared recently and I thought it was lost in cyberspace. But looking back on it I guess it was too political in nature for the moderators to allow it to remain. Political discussions have a propensity to generate trouble, ya' know.
P.S. The board moderators do well to keep things quiet and thats a good thing when you are trying to keep advertisers.
Sometimes when a post that is in violation of the TOS is deleted any and all posts that are directly linked to it will also be deleted and we cannot help that. It is the software and how you reply that matters in that case. Example is if you just add a post it is not tied to any other posts in the thread but if you first click "reply to this message" it is linked and it may go with the offending post. Everyone should read the TOS and those and only those messages that violate that are deleted. Controversy or subjects that tend to bring that are are still not deleted so long as they remain above board. Overall very few posts are deleted and in most cases it is discussed among staff first if there is any question about the violation. We try hard not to delete as we believe in the free exchange of information. A good example is if someone posted that such and such cruise line was horrible because the cabin steward failed to clean the room and the food was cold and of poor quality, we would let that stay even though the cruiselines don;t like it. Too bad, it is someones honest opinion backed with their reason for feeling that way. Now if someone posts such and such cruiseline stinks and nobody should ever cruise that disgusting line, period and that's it said, yeah, we would probably delete it as it is inflammatory and provides no information at all
