Default Shady spots on deck?

I am looking for places onboard to see the ocean and yet be out of the sun (recurrent skin cancer). I know that Holland America promenade decks have chaise longues but I had a hard time finding a spot on the Horizon to sit and look at the water in the shade. The diagrams/deck plans are difficult to read so if you would share your favorite nook with me I would be grateful. A balcony is good for half the day anyway though. Thanks.

Every ship I have sailed has had a number of covered, or shady areas on deck. I have not sailed on Horizon but I would bet that it is no different.

Enjoy,
Mike

Horizon has several places where you can find a shady spot. The pool level (Lido) deck
is partially covered by the deck above all the way around the pool area. You would have to look at the sea through the glass windows, but it is a nice place to sit.
At the stern of the ship there are a number of lounging decks . The top is full sun, but as you go down you can find shade on several of the lower stern areas.
No balconey cabins on Horizon, so that is not an option for you.

We just came off a Carnival ship in the unbearably hot Caribbean. My husband could not sit in the sun but had no trouble finding shady spots to lounge in, even close by to me, the sun worshipper!
