Default Toting bags and killing time

My friends and I are cruising on the Glory 9/18/04. We have an after cruise delimma. We hesitated to book the early (11:30am) flight out of Orlando for fear of missing it, the only other available flight in our market was 7:30 PM. We would like to do something besides sit at the airport for 7-9 hours, but do not have a clue what we can do with our bags. We will be staying in an Orlando Hotel prior to our cruise, but had not intended to stay the night after.(that would have solved our luggage problems)

Any advice???

Years ago we had a similar situation connecting from Maui through Honolulu to San Francisco. We found the cheapest thing was to rent a car for the day and put the luggage in the trunk. We drove all the way around Oahu, had dinner; cheaper and less insane than spending the entire day in the airport. Then two years ago we flew into Ft. Lauderdale and had lots of hours to kill before we could board our ship. Again, the cheapest thing was to rent a car, go have lunch, etc. Even one airport meal for several people would probably cost as much or more than a day rental on a car. Just a thought.

You can rent a car, there is alot to do in Orlando on your own. We did that three years ago after we returned from our Disney Cruise. The cruise line usually also offers excursions for people with late flights, and they take care of your luggage.

Carnival offers a post cruise excursion to the Space center.

Renting a car seems like a good idea. You are only a hour away from Daytona Beach or tour Orlando. Most cruiselines do offer post cruise excursions that drop you off at the airport and keep your luggage on the bus during the excursion.

Kennedy Space Center. Great tour. Also the cruiselines have just added some very interesting tours at that port for post cruise that you will want to look into. Horseback riding and airboat tours are also either there or coming at that port.

We usually do a post-cruise tour scheduled by the cruise line. They take care of the baggage and make sure you get to the airport in plenty of time for your flight.

Thank-you all for your tips! I will watch for new excursions. I forgot to mention my group has 6 people, so a car may not hold 6 and luggage.

We are also six people and were thinking of renting a mini van and go exploring before our 6pm flight.
