When we booked our upcoming cruise the TA told me we had 2 weeks to add insurance that would cover pre existing conditions. During that time we had a lot of stress levels in our home and I asked her to call me and remind me since this was very important to me to get due to some health factors. I could not have done it then and there because I needed to get in touch with another family member to see if she wnated it also. Well, the 2 weeks had well passed when I remembered my insurance. I stopped at the TA'S office and reminded her of contacting me in refernece to the above. She said she was sorry but she had forgotten. Now she is telling me when I make final payment which is soon I can still get insurance <which i know is true> but according to her it will still cover pre existing conditions since I had not been in the hospital lately for the condition. However I am on meds. I am a little confused about this and too be honest a little upset about her the way she mishandeled the insurance thing.
Can someone give me a clear answer on this? Thank you very much!

You might want to check on-line for insurance. That's what I did. I did it through insuremytrip.com (I think). Gave me several options and it was cheaper than what I was quoted through the TA. I paid the same amount for 5 people with better coverage that the TA quoted me for 1. Good luck!
You are outside of any penalty phase. Simply cancel, and rebook and get insurance while booking.
While I agree that the TA should have made a note to call and remind you, as you had asked, I think if it's something important, we should also take responsibility for ourselves.
I'm very forgetful too... but if it's important... I leave a note on my refrigerator door (which I visit way too often) <G>
We always get our cruise insurance thru travelexinsurance.com....
Cost for our last cruise was 87.00 for the 3 of us and it included evac, unemployment, bankruptcy of cruiseline, preexisting, and medical coverages along with the normal baggage delay/loss, etc....
