teen safety/ contacting passenger on CELEBRATION IN COZUMEL

AM CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY OF 16 Y/O GIRL AND 14 Y/O BOY WHO PRETTY MUCH LIKE TO HAVE THE RUN OF THE SHIP, EACH GOING THEIR OWN WAY. IS IT SAFE TO ALLOW THEM TO "DO THEIR OWN THING"- GETTING TOGETHER FOR MEALS ETC? WE WILL BE ON ELATION; FRIENDS ON CARNIVAL, TO BE DOCKED TOGETHER AT COZUMEL, I AM TOLD. ANY WAY OF GETTING MESSAGE TO THEM SO WE CAN GET TOGETHER IN COZUMEL? ANY INSIGHTS HELPFUL. THANKS

you and only you can make that determination when it comes to your kids. If they are together thats good. I would have definite check-in times, have dinner together, have a definite curfew and get them walkie-talkies. Set limits and boundaries you just can't let them run wild and do what they want to, that's just asking for trouble.
As for getting together with your friends in Cozumel, make the arrangements before you leave, just agree to meet on the pier near one of your ships at a certain time. You can always e-mail from the ship to confirm.

We found that the walkie-talkies worked great. Make sure you get ones with sub-channels. We also had the kids check-in every two hours, had meals together and watched the shows together. They had a 11:00 p.m. curfew unless they were with us. We got them the soda cards and they weren't allowed to charge on their sign and sail cards so they had to come get one of us before they could buy anything (as you can guess we saw the girls more than every two hours!). As others have said, only you know your kids, although I would be less concerned with what they would like to have and more with what *you* are comfortable with in terms of freedom. Lots of folks use walkies talkies, we used a check in system. Someone else recently posted about using yellow sticky notes stuck to the mirror in their room telling where they would be and at what times.

BTW, typing in all caps is considered screaming, and although I can vouch that teenagers make you want to scream, I'm sure that's not what you intended.
