Getting off waitlist

How easy is it to get off waitlist? We are waitlisted for 11/2 sailing of Sun Princess. We were asked for a cash deposit last week to put us further up on list, but no word yet.

CJ - who asked you for more money to move up on the waitlist? I don't think the cruise lines work that way. It sounds fishy to me.....especially since they asked for cash!

Best chances for clearing the waitlist is right after final payment is due when cabins are released for non payment and agencies with group space give up their unsold space. There was someone recently who posted that a week out they were number 5 on the waitlist and did get to sail on the cruise they were waitlisted for.

Yes Princess does do this as a wait-list to move you up. Brings you more to the top than others who did not put up any money and just hoped on a GTY or asked to be put on the wait-list. We have done it before.
There is all sort of game playing when it comes to this.

Hopefully you used a credit card and not cash. If you do not get your wait-list they will credit you, but it takes sometime.

And as Lisa said it is usually when final payment is due when these cabins become available. Normally about a week after final payment. Keep in contact with your TA at final payment.
