Default How much spending money is needed for 2 people for 7 days?

It has been a long time since i last Cruised like 5 to 10 years ago. And I do not remember the amount I took with me.. Any suggestions will be great!
Well my BF does not drink. But I may have one or 2 foo foo drinks. We more than likely will not got to the casino and I am going to try to per pay for any shore tours. (I hope) I am hopeing to save up about $500 to $600. My hours at work have been cut back and I am trying to budget and spend as little as possible. I have the cruise and airfare and per cruise hotel night paid allready. Now All I have to do is come up with post cruise night and spending money and shour tours. Our cruise is Dec 5th. Only 76 days away. Can it be done?

Ssatterly

My wife and I have been on 5 cruises. We do not drink or gamble. Including excursions, our average bill on the ship is about $500-600 including gratuity. Its the jewelers on St Thomas that get my money.

Same here. Neither my husband or I drink or gamble. We have been on two cruises and spent between 400 and 600 on each. We spend most of our money on shore for souveniers and jewelry as Buff just mentioned. We normally try to arrange our own fun on shore and take one organized tour. Good Luck with your saving, we are counting down and budgeting too!

$400.00 - $600.00 sounds like plenty to me. We were on a 10day last November and including Bingo and tips our shipboard account was only $450.00. We paid for excursions before we left on a different credit card. It is only as expensive as you let it be.

I drink and gamble. Drinks go on the ships bill, with gratuity, and are automatically put on your charge card. Gambling is strictly up to you. In addition to your regular gratuity you will need a few bucks for the room service waiters (about two dollars per visit). Botique purchases go on your bill. In ports the natives want american cash. Enjoy!

For spending money we budget $100 per day. This does not include gambling. I have to hoard my own money for that. :-)

This usually covers our shore excursions, onboard account and most tips.

Take care,
Mike

Drinks and shore excursions and a special treat dining at the supper club cost us appx $1200. This was for 2 people, and we had 2 shore excursions each which were moderatly priced.

Unless you are gonna do some major shopping, $100 a day sounds plenty to me too. We always take more than needed, just in case. They do have atms on the ship, but it charges you a good bit if you need it, and I have heard that they run out of money fast.

Try this Suze Ormand advice......go through your wallet every other day and pull out the singles and put them in a ziplock and out of sight, in a year you will have enough to cover your expenses and tips on a cruise.

Give it a try, I did it for 1/2 a year and had $300 dollars saved for my first cruise. It's amazing how fast it adds up and you don't miss it. My hubby was happy that I was able to save something (it's not my thing).
