San Diego Port-is train station close enough to walk ?

We are taking a cruise out of San Diego. We live in L.A. and are taking Amtrak to San Diego. DOes anyone know if we can easily walk to the Princess dock from there? I have been there before but I forget the details. Thanks

I was just in S.D. in June and assuming that all cruise ships dock in this same spot, there was a cruise ship (not Princess) docked basically in front of the train station so, yes, it is within walking distance, in fact, only about one block away. The ship was docked next to Anthony's Sea Food Restaurant.

If you take a taxi because of luggage, I would think the fare would be $ 5-$6 dollars

(Native San Diegan here) ... Yes, it is no problem to walk from the train station to the cruise terminal (just one for all lines). It's one city block away and all flat. Of course, I am assuming you have wheeled luggage.

Thanks. I appreciate the input. I have been there by train, but at the time I wasnt paying attention. We have wheeled luggage, and my husbands strong, so I think we will be fine...thanks..MJ
