Default Add a passenger??

I'm wondering if it's possible to add an extra passenger after you've booked. We are thinking of taking another cruise next year & if our daughter might come with us but won't know if it's possible until later, so can she be added to our room as long as we book one that would accomodate an extra person?
Thanks,
Nancy

Hi Nancy,
As long as your cabin can fit another cruiser in, they will usually do it. Some ships have a certain number of kids they allow per sailing, so thats something to think about too, just don't wait too long. Just call your travel agent and ask to make sure.

Thanks Donna. My "kid" is 26, so age won't be a factor, it's her very demanding job that is the problem and won't allow her to plan very far ahead. That's why it would be great to be able to take her on a vacation with us.
Thanks,
Nancy

We've got that same issue, Nancy. We plan on cruising in the fall next year and would love our 28 yo to join us, but can't book for him right now. My TA says it shouldn't be a problem, especially if we don't book a gty, but a specific room that allows 4.

I would add the extra person to the room as soon as possible. Cruise ships are capacity controlled and you may not be able to add an extra person later on. I learned this lesson the hard way. Twice I had to upgrade to a higher, more expensive category to accommodate an extra person in the cabin. At a certain point the cruise line will close certain cabin categories to triples and quads. It's much easier to remove a person than to add one.

Also, they may not book you into a cabin like a tripe or a quad unless you have the required number of people when you originally book. This usually happens for the more popular sailings like holiday and spring break sailings.

Thanks everyone for your help. We have booked and added my daughter's friend to her cabin. I understand we can always change the person she is taking in case her friend can't go. I know there will be a fee, but it's better than paying for her to travel alone.
Thanks again,
Nancy
