How is the drinking water on Royal Caribbean? Is it necessary to drink bottled water---I do that at home, but it could get a little costly for 6 of us.

Re: Quality of Drinking Water.
The water on ships is distilled on board.....it is purer than what comes out of the tap at home - and is the same quality as bottled water. I've never had any problems with ships water.

It is of excellent quality and much better for drinking than any water you have coming out of your own tap at home. It is probably cleaner than some of the bottled water you can buy.

Just a clarification: The water is not distilled on-board, but rather goes through a much more complex processing, that results in water that is, indeed, quite a bit better than that that comes out of my tap at home. The water is no only desalinated and purified, but is also mineral-fortified. On Majesty of the Seas, at least, it tasted really quite good, and I found no reason to bother with bottled water.
Lisa: I have to agree...the water onboard the ships is a better quality than what comes out of my tap at home.
