When did you get your documents?

I don't know for sure but I have been told the curiselines are pretty strick on the names matching on documents and ID ever since the 9/11 attacks.

If I were you I would pay the $50.00 now and fight about it latter. I am fairly sure Carnival has no qualms of leaving without one passenger.

Just my advice. Take care of this now.

Don

Yes, fix it now, complain later.

deb:
Pay the $50 now and go. However make it clear to your Travel Agent that they dropped the ball. If you have proof that the name you supplied the agent was correct it is the agents problem. It is their responsibility to make sure the documents are correct before they send them out to you. This is one of the reasons that the cruise line sends the documents to the travel agent and not directly to you. They should examine the documents to make sure they are accurate.

If the name on the original order was correct then the agent should pay the name change fee.

However, don't let fighting over who is going to pay for it stop the name change from happening. As it was said, Carnival already has their fare and they don't care if someone doesn't sail.

Take care,
Mike

I found my husbands name wrong on my 12/13 documents before I got them when I went to fill out my online boarding forms.

I called RCL and they told me only my agent could fix it.

I sent her an email mail and she notified me that it was fixed and to go ahead and fill out my forms again. I went in and his name was corrected.

She never even mentioned a charge of $50 for a name change. If the name was wrong, it's her fault or RCL's since I've booked many cruises through her and never had a mistake.

I then got my boarding documents and the name was still spelled wrong. I called RCL and they said as long as my online documents were fixed there will not be a problem.

I will call again just to double check if it's okay.
