Default return flights

If my ship is scheduled to disembark at 7:00am, what is the earliest flight home I could safely book?

Hi CArrie,
If you should find a flight that leaves around noon you should be fine. I've got an 11:05 flight out of Ft. Lauderdale that I should make, but I would of rather it been an hour later, but will try to make it, next flight is 3:00...

Best of luck and have a wonderful cruise.

There is no guarantee you will disembark at 7 am. In 10 cruises I have NEVER been off the ship before 10:30 am and that has included handicapped (early) disembarcation. There are always people who do not do customs as requested or do not clear their ship bills promptly. You will hear the same names constantly paged for these jerks. Also, customs and the coast guard may not clear the ship (generally does not) in time for 7 am disembarcation.

Earliest flight I would book is 12 noon and even later if not flying out of the same city.

Noon to be on the safe side. Many will have and probably make earlier flights but it is not worth the worry of missing the flight. Mid-afternoon is really better as you can usually find something to do in the airport to while away a couple hours.

24 cruises and counting!

depends on how far dock is from airport If you get off the ship at 10:30 (a fairly realistic time) you would want to add 30 mins to get luggage and transportation to airport, if airport is an hour away you are already at noon, you probably need to allow at least 1.5hrs to 2 hrs at airport before flight time. I wouldn't want to plan flight before 3 or so but I hate to rush and always allow time for the unexpected.
