Default First Time Cruiser

My 2 teenage sons and I are going on a Carnival Cruise on Victory to the Western Caribbean. We set sail on January 16th. This is our first time to cruise and I need all the help I can get!! I especially would like information about the shore excursions that you would recommend. We would like to go swimming with the dolphins. We are going to Cozemel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rio. Which would be your top three shore choices in each location?

Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Linda,
If you really want to do the dolphin swim, you'll need to pre book that ASAP, it fills up quickly, if you want to e-mail me I will give you their web-site and hopefully they still have space....

I'd suggest in Jamaica to climb Dunns River Falls, you can just sign up once onboard and do a ship excursion. Then for Grand Cayman, snorkeling with the Sting Rays is the thing to do, the kids will love it. Be sure to pick up an underwater camera at home, you'll save a lot that way...

Have Fun!

I can highly recommend those things that Donna did. To me those are the most important tours to do and you can do any others at a later time, just do the ones that Donna pointed out.

24 cruises and counting!

well i went with the dolphins and it cost me $145 and i dont think it was worth it. we only got about 20-30 min and you get a group of six. you do about 5 things with the dolphins. Im not saying i didnt have a good time but i dont think it was worth the price i paid. I went river tubing on the white river in jamica. it was awesome. you get your own intertub and they they give you a drink. i suggest that. went with the sting rays it as cool and the rays are big. hope you have fun!!!

in agreement with the others
Cozumel - book your dolphin swim now, it might even be too late. If you can't get into a Dolphin swim you can spend the day there at the park, swim, snorkel, relax, they have an aquarium and a replica of the Mayan ruins. Lots of great family-friendly beaches to choose from also.
Caymen - Sting Rays
Ocho Rios - Dunns River Falls - you and the kids will have a blast. Book with a tour operator to avoid the somewhat pushy vendors- Peat Taylor is awesome.
