My son is 16 and loved the teen scene that Royal Caribbean had. I hardly ever saw him. I'm sure Carnival is the same. He said that he met many friends, played games, hung out and participated in the planned activities. We are taking another cruise and my son can't wait. Both boys will have a blast. I highly recommend it. They will not be bored for a second. By the way, I have a 7 year old daughter who loved our cruise and cannot wait to our next one.
My daughter was l6 this past summer on the Conquest and she went to the teen room the first night and after that, she was with friends the rest of the cruise except at dinner and shore excursions.
At night there were dances with a "bar." They had organized events but mostly the teens enjoyed hanging out in their own area without any parents and met other teens and talked.
