Default Canada Place Boarding

We are taking our first cruise on HAL this June on the Zaandam. Our last Alaska cruise we disembarked in Vancouver but boarded in San Diego. We are unsure about the boarding process at Canada Place.

Anyone have info about how soon we can check-in? How about the crowds since three are two other ships embarking that day. I've heard from other discussion groups that Canda Place is huge and if you get there at 11:30 you can practically wlk on. I'm a "worst case scenario" type and worry that the line of cabs trying to unload will be miles long and the check-in will take hours.

Any solace/experience for us?

Thanks

ColDoc

You should be able to board around noon, not a problem. We were able to board and then we got off the ship and walked around town for awhile, you may want to consider that too and look for the steam powered clock, quite interesting.

Good evening,
We have boarded at Canada Place; I also work there for
WWSS, a shoreside company handling HAL and CARNIVAL ships.

Our facilities are huge and well organised. I presume you are arriving
on your own,by cab. You'll find the offloading to be swift, smooth and very well
organised. Your checked luggages are taken off your hands ,literally, by
Teamsters longshoremen, upon getting off the cab. They will next be seen
at your cabin door around 3.30pm !!! You walk in and are within 100' of the
passengers screening facilities, themselves about 200' away from the
Holland America checkin lounge. Arriving at 10.30am puts you in front of
the lines,wherever....among the first thru screening when THEY open up
around 11.00am...among the first in the HAL checkin lines when THEY are
ready, about the same time, and among the first thru INS when THEY open
up at Noon sharp !!!, behind them, about 75-100' and you're on board!!!
You pay the money, max out your stay !!!! Nothing beats being right aboard
the ship by approx 12.15pm,way ahead of the mass.

The ship you picked is a very good one.

Happy cruisin'
