Travelling with Carnival in May with 3 different ports of call (Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten). After my time on the various islands, what identification is required to re-board my ship?? I am a Canadian citizen/resident and will be travelling with a current passport.
All you should need is your Sail & Sign card. You may also wish to carry, and I recommend it just in case, some sort of photo ID like a drivers license or a CC with your photo on it just in case they ask for it before you are allowed on the dock to the ship.
We photocopy our passport and carry that on shore with us.Most cruise lines kept non americans passport[if you are sailing out of a us port],with the copy you will not have to worry. Also I dont like carrying my wallet on shore,so ill take what i need and leave important papers on board.
On royal Cribbean when you board they take your picture and it is on your sign and sail card so when you reboard you put your card in a slot at security and your picture comes up.
Your photo image is on all of the ships cards now I believe but there have been a few times in some ports that we have been stopped and made to produce a photo ID before being allowed on the pier or in order to get onboard a tender. Once you make it to the ship itself all they do is scan your card.
