I have a son with a 4E wide shoe and finding dress shoes is imposible. He does have a new pair of tennis shoes but dress shoes only come in 2-3E wides and wont fit. To order the speciel shoes is VERY expensive! And, since he is a teenager...I dont think he will wear them otherwise. I would like him to be able to eat(non-formal) nites in dining room with us if he chooses. He does have dress pants and nice shirts. Will they allow him in?
Yes, you might consider black tennis shoes to compliment the dress clothing. And for formal night I doubt anyone would say anything.. I for one like to see teenagagers well dressed even if they do have tennis shoes on. A tie and nice shirt will do nicely.
Lets face the fact, todays dress for the younger crowd is forgiven.

Last cruise my son's dress shoes were too small and we didn't realize it until we got on board. He wore his black sneakers (they were new) in the dining room every night, including formal nights (with his suit and tie). I don't think anyone even noticed that he wasn't wearing dress shoes.

I can feel your pain. My son also wears a 4E at 13 years old. He also has a 34 waist and needs very short long pants. Very hard to shop for. We did find an inexpensive pair of slip on black dress shoes at a discount store. Our problem is the Tennis Shoes. He can't seem to find any that he likes in a 4E.
With a 4E width on the shoes have you considered forgoing the shoes and just putting the box on their feet?
No one will say anything about a teenager with sneakers on in the dining room, even on formal night. If they do, practice sounding a "rasberry " at them and making a nasty face. It's none of their business what your sons wear.
Seriously, no problem Moms. Let them wear what they have that fits to the dining room.
(even on formal nights).
I agree with everyone else, don't sweat it even on formal nights, my son has a similar problem in that he wears a size 16 which can be difficult to find. We have discovered Eastbay which is great for hard to find sizes.
Have a great cruise and don't let a pair of shoes get in the way of a great dinner!!
My son just bought a pair of Wonderlite slip on "dress" shoes at Sears. They are very wide. Not saying you need them, just letting you know that these may work. He does have a job that requires dress shoes, so, at least, he'll get some use out of them. Otherwise, agree with the others about black tennis shoes.
My 18 year old son wore a pair of black and white Converse high top tennis shoes with his suit to the first formal night. Nobody said a word or probably even noticed. He had joked with me that he was going to wear them and being we were in different cabins, I wasn't with him when he got ready for dinner. He has a very large foot also and said these were the most comfortable shoes he owns. I was going to insist he go change but I figured why make a fuss. Nobody even cared. He looked very handsome otherwise in his suit. Seriously, nobody even noticed his feet.

My 15 year old wore tennis shoes every night and wore a golf shirt to all dining room meals including formal night. No one said a thing and I envied him since he didn't have to dress in a suit and be miserable like me.
Next cruise I'll wear a jacket but the ties are staying at home!
