I am going on the Carnival Legend in May and I have an aft balcony room facing out the back of the ship. I've heard from other cruisers that you can smell engine fumes back there. Has anyone ever experienced this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have been trying to get an aft room, they said that you have to wait until right before sailing because they save them for bigger groups...is this correct? We booked our cruise in August for April 05!
We had an aft cabin on a recent cruise on Canival's Pride. No fumes, great views and we only felt the vibration a little at night when in bed. We thought it wa soothing. We had front row seats the first night out when a helicopter came to take a sick person off the ship. The helicopter made several passes to get the basket down in the right postion and it was at times, terrifying in that kind of exciting way. The helicopter came so close to the back of the boat that the wind from the copter resulted in plastic deck furniture flying off the aft balcomies into the ocean. But, don't let this story stop you from gettting an aft cabin. We would do it again.
We had an aft room on RCCL to the Western Caribbean last summer. I would pay any amount of money for that room - absolutely awesome! In the early a.m., it's just you and the sunrise and the boat backing in to port - what an wonderful memory for us - totally unobstructed view. My DH and I shared breakfast on the balcony while deciding what to do for the day - without a doubt - the BEST view on the boat!
Threecharms a question for you , what ship and what room ? We are booked on the Navigator for a June cruise and have room 1692(deck 10) Tell me about your room, ours is a two twin beds to make a queen bed and a sofa couch(suppose to be a queen size bed when pulled out I have my doubts on that) We will have 4 in the room what do you think? And the balony and the back of the ship was Ok??? Let me know Thanks, KMBB
