I am sailing on Holland America and I have not had input from the travel agent on the rule for bringing cans of pop -with me- onboard. Can I? Will they take them away if they find them? will I get in "trouble" over pop cans?
My friends father (75 yr old) is insisting he will pack a bottle of alcohol in his bag which I have said is NOT allowed - what can happen to him if it is found ? worse case senerio please !
Worst case scenario for you dad would be that it gets confiscated and given back to him at the end of his cruise. Or..........it breaks in his luggage and somebody has to do laundry!
Not sure about the soda as I haven't sailed on HAL. Is there anything in their brochures about this? On Carnival, a reasonable amount is permitted, so, probably, if you just have a couple of six packs, you should be ok.
PS.......you may want to ask this on the HAL board.
They will not say anything if you bring on a couple of sixpacks of soft drinks. If your friends Dad tries to bring a bottle of booze onboard with him they will take it away from him and return it to him at the end of the cruise. I 'think' that you can still buy a bottle of booze onboard HAL and take it to your room if you pay duty on it but not at all sure so you need to find that out from your TA. Either that or just buy drinks onboard as they are reasonable.
When I was boarding the guy next to me had a case of Coke. They did not let it on as they sell coke products...the next guy got on with Mt. Dew...which is pepsi product. Did not know of this rule.
