Default Insurance .. when should I buy?

I have now booked my cruise and flight home and am wondering when I should buy my insurance. I have no pre-existing conditions that would prevent me from cruising, so I thought I would wait until closer to the magical day which is nine months away. My main concern was if I got ill or injured while on the cruise, or lost luggage, or missed flight.

Also, how many of you have used insuremytrip.com?

I would buy now if you are within 14 days of your deposit. What happens if you come down with cancer tomorrow - you can no longer get pre-existing conditions covered because if you hadn't purchased insurance, you now have a pre-existing condition. Or if your parent goes in for a heart test and they relize they have a heart condition. If they have a heart attack before you leave, you cancelling the cruise would not be covered. No one can plan when they find out about their condition.

Insurance costs the same if you do it now or later.

I bought my insurance today. I am not covered for pre-existing conditons (which I dont have) but I have somekind of a 90 condition thing which would be good for my FIL health who is not cruising with us but will cover if anything happens to his health. The agent at insuremytrip.com explained it to me what I was buying and was very informative. I got a package for a family of 4 and coverage for a $3200 trip for under $100.
