Default Formal Dining

In some of the photos I have seen of cruise ship meals it appears that the table is set with dessert course silver placed on the table. AM I CORRECT, OR HAVE MANY CRUISERS PLACED A TEA SPOON IN THE WRONG PLACE AFTER USING IT?

You are correct. The silverware for the entire meal is set from the beginning. At least that's how it's been on the two cruises I've been on.

Yes, I too noticed the silverware is set for the entire meal, including dessert. If for some reason you don't order a salad, they will take the clean silverware away, same if you don't order soup, they will take the soup spoon away, since you aren't going to use it.
