Default port canaveral-fly to orlando or melbourne intl.?

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in this area. I'm sailing on the Glory 7/02-7/09 out of Port Canaveral and before I book my flight I'd like to know if it's more convenient to fly to Orlando or Melbourne Intl. I heard that the Orlando airport is 45 miles away and Melborne is only 25 miles from Port Canaveral, but when speaking to Carnival they told me it's better to fly to Orlando and get a ride to the port from there. I'm confused and was hoping someone could clear this up for me.

Thanks

My opinion for what its worth is fly to Orlando. You can get much better rates Orlando than you will to Melborne. Getting a Shuttle from the Airport to the boat is not hard at all. Infact I know Carnival has one. We took it last week from the Airport and the ride wasnt bad at all.

If you can fly on Jet Blue or Delta Song they have great rates into Orlando. I think I paid like 140.00 round trip from Boston to Orlando on Song. Sorry I dont remember the exact price as I booked awhile ago.

The plus side for using Melbourne is that it's a very small airport (7 gates). Easy to get in and out of and does not have the lines that Orlando has. The negative is that Delta is the only major airline servicing Melbourne and most flights are routed through Atlanta.

If the prices were close enough, I'd choose Melbourne over Orlando just for the convenience.
