Purchasing a nice watch

My wife would like to buy me a nice watch for our 40th anniversary. We'll be on a curise with stops in St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Whice island offers the best deals? Which stores stand out above the others for selection and most importantly price. Thanks for your time.

I personally prefer St Martin. Know your prices before you go, not everything there is a bargain.

My husband got the best deal on the ship. As Paul said know your prices before you go. We did a lot of research into what kind of a watch he wanted, went to a lot of stores in our area and then checked out the prices on line. The price on the ship was about 40% less than anything we were able to find at home. The best deal in the islands was about 30% less.

We prefer St. Thomas, bought a fair amount of jewllery and our first digital camera. The camera we bought was new on the maket and was only available in Canda about 3 months latter at a much higher price.

The cruise ship will normally advise you which stores are reputable. We had a problem with a piece of jewllery that was faulty, we set it back and within a month they corrected the problem and shipped it back to us. Very good service.

Ditto to above posts, know the prices at home before you buy.
