Default Staying healthy on a cruise...

when people talk about the different things they do to prevent getting sick on the ship like using hand sanitizer, lysol wipes, etc. I can help but wonder...could they be spreading germs via the casino? I don't use the casino, but it there are a lot of people who do and I can't imagine that the staff sanitizes the buttons/handles on the machines or "clean" the chips. Or do they?

Just wondering...

Hi Kathy,
Very good question, and also another reason to use the hand sanitizer for sure. There are just so many knobs, etc. in the casino, even if they do all get cleaned, lots of surfaces to keep clean.

I think those handles and chips are more a threat to your wealth than to your health. Like you, I avoid that problem by avoiding the casino.

I tend to agree that the casino can be a real germ carrying place. While in Bahamas, we gambled on Cable Beach for only an hour. I forgot to wash my hands and the very next day came down with a cold which affected my vacation. I think this could have been easily avoided had I washed my hands or not gne to the casino altogether. When on cruises, be sure to use the hnd sanitizing stations. They really work!
