Mailing postcards

I was wondering about mailing postcards home. Should I bring a roll of stamps or do I have to send them airmail?

Happy April Fools day everyone!

you can buy the stamps from the country you are mailing from at the pursers desk and they will mail it for you.

Re: Mailing postcards

Dan P, Does the pursers desk always have the correct stamps? I would love to mail my parents a card bearing the correct stamp & postmark. They get so excited when we cruise. They would love to go but have too many medical issues. They are in their 80's. Thanks for any info you can provide

FYI - chances are that you will get home before the postcards! has happened to us.
Mail them from the purser's desk, they will have the correct stamps.

We have returned home from our cruise now for 2 weeks and our postcards still haven't arrived. They were posted in Panama.

Re: Mailing postcards

Post cards are 3rd class mail so they take much longer if you send a letter or regular card I bet it gets there faster.

Darcey , LisaK & showcat, Thanks for the info. Doesn't matter if they are late arriving, Mom & Dad, love mail. However I may write a letter just to see if makes the trip faster. Thanks again jp

Re: Mailing postcards

I found post cards arrive about 3-4 weeks after we're home. I send them anyway because they go to people in other parts of the country that we don't see all the time and my nieces and nephews love to get mail!

My husband told me they would probably get to the people faster if I brought them home and mailed them from home. I would still write them while on the cruise. I wonder if that is true.

Re: Mailing postcards

My daughter sent me a postcard from "Hell" . She arrived 6 days before the card. I will write Mom & Dad, a letter just to see if it goes faster. jp
