how annoying. i am getting so tired of trying to get rid of these pop-ups i am about ready to stay away from this board for awhile. this is the only site i go to and they are there. i hope soon they will be gone for good.
JPHC...I have a pop up blocker and it is no use on this, because it is a flash multimedia application. I think those of us who have flash are the ones being affected. I am going to have to wait until the resident computer geek gets home to disable the program so I can enjoy this site without it. Can anyone here on the Cruisemates staff do anything to restrict their advertisers from running these sorts of ads?
Technically - they are not pop-ups, they are rollovers, and they are VERY easy to close - just click OUTSIDE the box and they go away. Couldn't be easier.

I haven't seen any pop ups and I get on this site at least 4 times a day. I also have Mozilla Firefox, which blocks almost all of my pop ups. I don't use netscape or internet explorer. Firefox is great.
no problem jphc. we are here to help . no need to be sorry. we like to have posters here no matter how they type in their responses. i did notice tonight though that i did not have the pop-ups as bad. maybe they have stopped. i hope so. too much going on at once is a distraction too me.
Wow, I just started getting tons of these pop-up/rollovers today. They are truly annoying. I realize that the board has to make money but I am on this board by choice and for fun and being annoyed is not fun.
I can't believe Cruisemates need the advertising money that bad to let these people on. What happened to getting cruise type advertising. Next you'll see people trying to sell used cars and old furniture. Where will it stop. Cruisemates did an un-justice to us on this one.
They are not just rollovers. I am having them come to the front even when I am in another window and this site is buried.

I dont like them either! I WOULD never buy from any popup! ..btw..some ppl are LIKE me and have poor eye sight.Caps are so much easier to read,so I dont mind them!
Concerning pop-ups? Do you have teens on your computer? I had problems with it on my main computer (and still do). I now have a laptop and it is for me alone. No popups at all. I have been told that when you instant messenger people, it is like an advertisement going on (don't understand it).
I, too, am finding the "rollover" VERY anoying in addition to being a time waster having to close it EVERY time I change forums. I, too, will boycott this board if it is not removed. There are several other VERY good cruise boards out there.
I've won 4 plasma TV's since I signed on! Woooo Whooo! I could have a yard sale and retire at this rate!
These really are getting annoying. They are the ONLY pop ups that I get oddly enough.
In my opinion they are false advertising. "FREE" means free. If you read the print at the bottom is say's something like "once you complete sponsor offers". I haven't checked it out but I'm sure that FREE Plasma TV is gonna cost me a bundle!

i have a pop-up blocker that blocks everything on all of my other sites. now i am not getting so many of the pop-ups but all the '''' flashing and blinking ads on the top and sides of the messages is just as annoying. i dont come here to be bombarded by all the ads and promos for cruise co's. a couple was ok. but now it almost gives me a headache.
These pop ups are driving me nuts! I've been on here for about 20 minutes and have had 5 of them! Ok, you can have one freebie when I sign on, after that it's junk mail and annoying! Isn't there anything you can do to stop it? This site USED to be the best as it didn't have all the high pressure advertisement.
