We've always booked our own cabins. This time we're doing a guarantee for less money. This may be our last time if we're not happy.
We're booked out right now at 8 weeks to go. How soon could you try the Kelley method to find your room? I just read someone found it and they're cruising in 45 days. I didn't think they figure out cabins til much closer to your cruise as it can change. (for the better I hope) I'm guessing too when I find it, it could still change unless it's just a few days prior to leaving?

If you have any doubt, which you seem to by your statement, that you might not be "happy" why wouldn't you book a specific cabin instead of leaving it to chance?

Well, to save money. We're taking an extra person this time and had to book two rooms. Never had to do this before and also our first time in the summer which is more expensive. We did book a balcony, so I think we'll be fine.. We usually get mid ship. Haven't ever been near the very front or back. So if we end up somewhere I don't like, it's my fault we didn't book a specific cabin. I might like to be in the front or back.
It's not like it's going to ruin my cruise. I just prefer to know my cabin #. Next time...Who knows...we may get upgraded to a suite! Wishful thinking...
I sail on June 05 to the Bahamas on the Triumph and I found out my room number yesterday by using the gift method--took me about 2 hours but well worth doing as I had booked an 8a balcony guartnee on the upper deck and I am now on the Panorama deck 10. Anyone been on this deck. I am so excited--we can't wait.
If you have your documents look on the back of the one you fill out for your sign & sail card. On the bottom left is your booking number. Sometimes your cabin number is in the numbers right after the booking number. That can change the closer you get to sailing if you booked a guaranty. I know someone who's room changed about four times prior to getting to the ship.

This is my first cruise and I booked a Guaranty Larger Outside Cat. E on Zuiderdam. This will suit me fine as it has a window.
I was wondering my cabin number so I could do my immigration papers on-line (from Canada, eh!) and they keep telling me they cannot proceed without a cabin #. I leave this Saturday and will take the hand-filled immigration forms with me, but if I go by the "Kelley Method" my room assignment is 001. I don't think that's it! But I will try putting in 001 and see if it helps. Any comments appreciated.
I tried the immigration form using the 001 and it worked!!!!! I filled out my form and I found out my cabin#. They upgraded me two levels. Not bad. But if it changes before we leave, also no problem, as I can only sleep in one bed anyway and I have a window, what else do you need? Maybe as I cruise more I will find out, but for now, I am a happy camper.
This is the best site for information anywhere. You have helped me in so many, many ways. Thank you, you are all great people and I would count myself lucky to run into any of you!
