Default Life Boat Drills

It's been a few years since we cruised out of San Juan. Since we sail at 10 p.m. does anyone know what time the life boat drills are conducted? Would appreciate this info for the Destiny and the Adventure of the Seas.

On late sailings, we've seen life boat drills held at @ 11:30 at night, or the next day. Think they have to do them within 24 hrs of sailing.

I have a borrowed copy of Carnival Capers from Destiny sailing 12/19/04. The front of it has a notice that signal will ring for muster drill at approximately 10pm.
Hope this remains accurate info for you.

Cruise lines are given 24 hours to conduct the life boat drill after the ship leaves home port.

Take comfort in the fact that whenever they do it, you'll be sure to hear about it.

On the back of your cabin is a map posted which lists the route to take to your life boat station. Not too difficult and usually pretty close to your cabin. Our drill was the same day I was on the Legend. Signs are posted as the what station your at on deck as well.

Default Life Boat Drills

Back in the "old days", lifeboat drill was the first party of the cruise.
We would all go down to the lifeboat deck with drink in hand, and
drink till the "all clear", then get rid of the life vests, and go find the next party.
Things are different now. They don't allow drinking at lifeboat drill, they
actually check to be sure everyone who is supposed to be there, is, and
they act so serious...................
Also, during our last cruise, we left our aft cabin, walked a few feet, and entered
a stairwell which took us down a couple of flights, and ended up right at our
lifeboat station. I told "What's her name" to remember that stairwell, as we could
use it to go up and down without having to walk half the length of the ship to
get to the elevators. After lifeboat drill, that stairwell disappeared, nothing there
but a blank wall. Methinks the emergency stairs are crew only except for
emergency. BUT, I did not ask for a refund or cabin credit, or even half off
my next cruise. I just consider it part of the adventure. Happy cruising.
