You are usally close to the pool and the buffet. So, if you are there a lot its nice to be close to that area.

Something lower & more toward teh middle of the ship will prevent you from feeling the ship's movement as much.

Hi,
The top cabin deck is always right under the buffet/swimming pool / walking
track/hamburger...hotdog place...etcetc.....it may be noisy. First thing in a.m.,
the pool crew pulls out and readies all the lounge pool-chairs; you will sometimes
hear that.
The buffet has a lot of people movement and chair moving aroud....this might
at time be of concern.

The top deck cabin very often has an overhang outside....i-e- The Millenium
series on CELEBRITY.....imo, this is a negative.
Should the ship sail into a finicky sea, you'll '' feel it '' more on the top cabin
decks than , say, '' deck 6 '', mid-ship

All depends how tolerant you are about these possibilities...like Donna says,
if you prefer to be close to the topdeck where there is a lot of action, then
this is the place for you.

Happy sailing
CG

Re: Top Deck

You really need to look at the deck plans of the ship you are sailing to know for sure. On the Destiny class ships of Carnival for instance all the activities other than the pool and buffet are on the lower decks.

I booked a guaranteed cabin on the Pride at a category which was one deck above the casino, shops, lounge, bars, atrium, et. al. so I could walk one flight of stairs and didn't have to use the elevator. Just my luck, when I got to the port they "upgraded" me 3 higher decks. To me, this wasn't an upgrade since I now had to take the elevators all the time. And it was at the front of the ship where you would hear the paying out of the anchor chain.

Regards,
Thomas
