We are leaving on the Glory May 14th and was wondering if anybody knows if there is a emergency number family can call, just in case...We are leaving behind 3 daughters and they may break a fingernail!!!!
This is from the carnival cruise lines website frequently asked questions:
Friends and family may call guests onboard via Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN) Shore-to-Ship telephone service. The rate is $9.50 per minute from the United States; additional long distance charges may apply from outside the United States.
The caller needs to have available the ship name and the guest's name. The charges will be applied to the caller's credit card: MasterCard - Visa - American Express - The Discover Card - Diner's Club. 1-877 CCLSHIP (1-877-225-7447) from the U.S. 1-732-335-3284 from Canada and outside the U.S.
We left those emergency #'s for ship to shore also, but we broke down and bought a block of internet time. We told our girls (in college) and house sitter that if they needed us to email the house. It was nice to check email and find nothing wrong. We got some cute messages from our cats via our house sitter AND the girls thought it was neat getting an email from the middle of the ocean!
The first thing is to leave the kids with a responsible adult who can make
emergency decisions in your absence. We always leave a signed release for medical treatment in case Bubba needs to get a stitch or two.
The best thing is to buy a block of internet time and check in daily.
Another important thing is to keep all your
cruisemates informed of your progress by reporting here during your cruise.
