We have booked 13 friends and family on a Carnival Cruise. Since some were past guests and some were not, they split the past guests up ( on paper) and placed them in rooms with the non past guests. We did this through a travel agent, but when we called Carnival directly, they were going to do the same thing. Now we are faced with a dilema we foresee coming. When we check in at the ship they will be giving us cards for rooms that we will not be in. We thought that what we could do was give a credit card for the actual person that would be using the room key and then exchange cards. But, the cards have photos on them, so this will make it impossible to buy anything on the ship. Is it possible that when we check in that they will allow us to have room cards and sail cards issued to the right people will really be staying in?
Don i don't quite understand why this was done. You can request to room with certain people when you book your cruise, i would call your TA back and try to change it to get it right. It will be a pain in the butt trying to get the rooms/sign and sail cards all changed once you board, each person has to make the change.
Don I did the same thing on a previous cruise on the Triumph. Just go to the pursers desk upon boarding and they will issue new cards. No problem they told me many passengers do this to save money. So they are use to it. Hope this helps
