Default Request from Press - overnight shore excursion?

I have a Wall Street Journal reporter looking for people who have ever taken an overnight shore excursion from a cruise ship. If any here has ever done that, can you please post your name here, and an email address. If you do not want to post your email address; contact me at paulmotter@cruisemates.com.

Thank you.

Paul, my first overnight shore excursion will not occur until October. After all, except to go to distant inland places (e.g., Angkor Wat, Taj Majal, Iguasu Falls, etc), you are paying for a second "bed."

I know, I couldn't think of many either. Even Moscow from St Petersburg doesn't go overnight, I don't think.

Machu Pichu excursion in Peru is a common overnight excursion on South American cruises. HAL has a good excursion that runs about $800. My wife and I have looked into it.

Paul, I will be more than willing to check it out for you and give the Wall Street Journal guy a first hand report. <wink> <wink>

Take care,
Mike

We did an overnight excursion on our own leaving the ship in Playa del Carmen and rejoining her in Cozumel after an overnight in Isla Mujeres.

But no ship sponsored tours, sorry.

I guess the cruise/train tours out of Alaska kind of fit the bill depending on your definition.

There will be an overnight in Venice with the CCL LIberty and there is an overnight in Moorea on the Tahitian Princess, or at least there was when it was the R-3. That ship actually when back out to sea for the night for safety reasons but you could stay on the island if you wanted to.

Ms Reporter, you've got mail.

Jim, there is a difference between a ship staying in port overnight (which happens frequently) and an overnight excursion (or could be multiple nights).
