Bring Your Own Wine On-board

We're crusining Celebrity to Alaska in July... I read somewhere that you could bring your own wine on-board and they would un-cork it and serve it with your dinner. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

It's true, but corkage fees are stiff (and rising rapidly at some lines), the logistics are cumbersome (heavy, fragile, etc.), and although we like wine too, there's plenty of it onboard at what amounts to restaurant prices. We like to travel light, and have had no trouble finding pleasant ways to eat and drink aboard any ship we've ever been on.

Just seems like coals to Newcastle.

But, yes, you can certainly do it.

double check on Celebrity's web site, but i believe that each person is allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine/champagne in their carry-ons for personal consumption. The corkage fee last i knew was $10.00 per bottle. If you want to drink your wine in your room, pack a corkscrew in your checked baggage. If you want your wine with dinner then be prepared to pay the corkage fee. With that being said, the ships have a very good selection of wines to choose from at prices that you would pay at a good restaurant, with no corkage fees attached.
