I'm from Boston and have been on 2 cruises to Bermuda and back. Also been to the Caribbean. Our TA promised we'd have "glass" on our March cruise to the Caribbean--wrong! I was so glad I wore my sea sick patch! We hit 60 MPH winds and very rough water. On our last cruise to Bermuda from Boston (May 1), we hit hurricane force winds and 35 foot swells that were crashing over deck 5. This is not to unnerve you, but you should be aware that any time you are out on the open sea, it's anyone's guess what kind of weather you'll encounter. The ocean is what it is--a force of nature that will not be controlled and cannot be predicted. In general, the Caribben is calmer than the north Atlantic, and certain times of year tend to be calmer than others. But there's no guarantees. On the positive side, these ships are well built and commandeered by seasoned captains and crew who know what they are doing and do their jobs very well. Go on board prepared for anything, then if it gets rough, enjoy the adventure!
