My wife and I are in our seventies with some limitations to extended walking. We would like to do a Baltic/Scandinavian Cruise and understand that they are port intensive. Which is why we want to go, however we have to be realistic to really see all that available. Do any of you Cruisemates have any experience in older adults cruising this area
We went in 2003 a month after my mother (80 at the time) got out of the hospital, where she almost died from viral pneumonia. She was very limited in her walking. In most ports, she and my (then) 85 year old father took ship's shore excursions, selecting ones that were the least strenuous.
In St. Petersburg, we hired Red October and could tailor an itinerary to our interests and her ability level. I wish we had hired private guides in more cities.
