Default For Luisa Frey Gaynor

Ma'am, you had some major lapses in your Holiday Sailing article. Most notably Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, SilverSeas, and Seabourn. Having spent Christmas once and New Years' twice sailing on Radisson, I would say that your article was certainly remiss in not mentioning the most luxurious ways to enjoy the holidays.

Marc.. she also didn't mention American Canadian Cruise Line, Crystal Cruise Line, Delta Steamboat Company, Oceania Cruise Line, Orient Cruise Line, Peter Deilman Cruises, Swan Hellenic, Thomson Cruises, Winjammer, Windstar, Viking River Cruises.. and quite a number of others.

I think Luisa did a good job of covering the major cruise lines. When writing an article for the web site it's impossible to cover everything , and every instance. Doing so would make a book, not an article.

While Radisson, and the other cruise lines you mention, no doubt offer a good product, they carry no where near the numbers of passengers of the cruise lines information included, and especially "family" passengers.... which the article pertained to.

Marc,

While the cruise lines you stated are not mentioned they are also not really considered "family" cruise lines. That was the focus of the article.

[i]Most cruise ships go all-out to decorate public rooms festively with seasonal décor, and to provide special family-oriented activities that put kids of all ages in the holiday mood. All of the following family cruise lines below feature seasonal activities as well as a visit from Santa and his elves bearing small gifts for kids on board.

Take care,
Mike

Kuki and Mike:

She included Crystal; therefore, I thought it remiss not to mention the others.

I agree that Oceania with three ships and catering to a North American market should also have been included. I was not surprised by the oversight of the other lines you mentioned.

Marc,
Crystal has full time youth programs and counselors and has taken an initiative to attract more families with younger children. Oceania does not offer youth programs and Radisson's Club Mariner program is not available on all sailings. While these cruise lines may have special offerings during the holiday period, overall they are not specifically geared nor have made a specific push to attract families, especially those with young children.

Take care,
Mike
