I am a 39 year old white female. I have always loved to travel. My dad was a merchant marine once, and I lost him in 1999. I would like a chance to work on a cruise shp. I have no experience, but I am a very fast learner. I am a registered CNA- Certified /Nurse's Aid, but have had no luck in finding a job I am interested in wokring for an America NCL, but have never heard about the ship before. I need advice about the ship, how reliable is it, can it withstand hurricane force winds, how is the seasickness on board, and have many other questions to ask. There is supposed to be a recruiter coming to Beaumont Texas, in either July or Auguest. I would like to meet with them, and get more information, about the ship. Thank you, Susan Bourque
Susan, you might check with the board that is for "Crewmen" under the "people" heading. They can probably tell you what crew life is. The one thing you must understand is that the work is very hard and the pay is very low and the hours are very long and free time is limited so you will not be going ashore very often at all.
Susan, I agree with Jim. Also go to the cruise ship web site, or other site on the et associated with cruising. There are tons of sites for employment . I know this only, because i lost my way one night, and could find a job,, just couldn't get out of where i had wondered. lol
