Default Toddlers on cruises

I am lookingto go on an eastern mediterranean cruise, and would like my 18month old toddler to come and enjoy herself also. I have read a few articles and I am confused, firstly are toddlers allowed to swim in the pools? and can you recommend a good ship and cruise to go on in Europe with a toddler

I can't recommend a ship, but we did go on the Holiday in June and our 14 month old grandson played in the kiddie pool. Now people on this board can get pretty "hot" about children in pools, but we had no problems on board. He wore those swimmies and his mother didn't let him stay in long anyway because of the heat. I would say the older children would be more of a health hazard in a pool than a chld under 2. They don't always say "I need to potty". I would use my own judgement. Have a wonderful trip. You will always remember taking your daughter on the cruise. We had a ball with our grandson.

KC,
You asked are toddlers ALLOWED in the pools...

This is the statement directly from RCI's website:

Please note: Children who are not toilet trained and diaper and pull-up free are not allowed in the pools or whirlpools.

This is the statement directly from Carnival's website:

Due to United States Public Health (USPH) Regulations, we do not allow children in diapers or those not toilet-trained in the pools.

Yes I know it might not be fair but and many older children and even adults might urinate in the pool but it is the fecal matter that is the biggest concern. E-coli can be very deadly.

That said, I'm sure if you sit on the edge and splash water on her or put her feet in, no one will bother you. You might want to look and see if you can find a small blow up pool to bring along. I've seen it done.

Most cruise lines from the US dont allow swim diapers in the pools. I have heard of people bringing small inflateable pools to use (Ive always wondered what happens to the water in it when its done being used).

Holiday is a term used by Europeans, etc and means the same thing as vacation.

Yes "holiday" also means vacation but Joy actually went on the Carival Holiday ship in June.
