Recently there has been lots of news regardng sefety on cruise ships. News reports state that on average, there is a report of a sexual assault 2 times per month on every cruise ships. Reports also state that cruise lines cover up crimes. My question is, does anyone have any credible information regarding the safety record on Celebrity Cruise Lines? I've sailed Celebrity 2 times and have not even seen a loud mouth drunk, but now I'm wondering what goes on that I'm not made aware of.
Life on a ship is the same as life on land. Don't be fooled into thinking that a ship is any safer than a city might be. You may have something in common with everyone on the ship (on vacation) but they are still strangers. Day time will be safer than night. Sober is safer than drunk. With someone is safer than alone. Lock your doors. Don't "fraternize" with the crew. Be aware. You're only as safe as you make yourself.
It's common sense, really. And if the statistics you quoted are true, that's actually quite safe!!! I bet a town of 3,000 has more than 2 reported sexual assaults per month. Not to mention that the population on a cruise ship changes every week or so!
