Default Christmas Cruise

We are cruising on the Fascination Dec 26 - Dec 30. Can anyone tell me if the ship will be decorated for Christmas? It's the day after Christmas so not sure if it will still be decorated for Christmas. If anyone has been on a cruise at this time - are the backdrops the photographers use traditional cruising backdrops or will there be some "Christmasy" ones also? Thanks!

Hi tjm,

I'm not sure about Fascination, but I believe most of the cruise ships leave the decorations up until after New Year's. If you don't see any Christmas backgrounds, you could ask and they'd probably be able to get one out.

On our Princess cruise last New Year's the Christmas decorations were still up and I think there were Christmas backgrounds available.

Have a great cruise!

We were on the Spirit 18 DEC thru 25 DEC XMAS decorations were in the public areas. I would think they would still be up for you.

My husband and I went on the Norweigan Sea on the New Year's Cruise and the ship was decorated beautifully! You can expect that most ships will still be decorated. Have fun!

Some ships decorate more than others. As far as I am concerned, don't count on the ship crew to make it a happy Christmas for you, they might be missing their own families too much. Take it upon yourself to make it a good Christmas for your loved ones.

Keep in mind that most ships are really "packed" at Christmas(lots of kids) so things maybe seem crowded and a little more disorganized than usual. Take the same cruise two weeks later and the price and selection is much better .
The Norway used to be nicely decorated at Christmas time on the main enclosed deck and the old First Class lounge with its real art decco furnishings.

I was on Sovereign of the Seas before Christmas in 2002. The ship had Christmas Trees and decorations in the common areas. Even the dining staff did a Christmas Dress up night. It was a nice touch. Plus nothing beats getting a tan over Christmas while everyone back home freezes their butt off ... haha

Oh Yes!! All cruise ships are decorated at Christmas. You'll find strolling carolers and even Santa arrives Christmas morning via ship launch. I suggest taking along small presents for the staff and crew working so hard that cruise. A phone card in a small stocking is a wonderful gift!

Have a joyous voyage!
