For people dining in Personal Choice Restaurants, is there some sort of Captain's Reception on Formal nites? If not, and if the menu is the same menu & the room is not specially decorated, what's the point of getting dressed up? I can see it in traditional dining where (in the old days) they had a special menu & you met the captain.
Golfer - i assume you are talking about Princess?
All of the dining rooms are formal on formal nights, the only exception being the buffet and pizzeria
The first formal night is the Captain's Gala Welcome Aboard Party. The only folks who get to attend the Captain's cocktail party are past passengers- Captain's Circle members, by invitation only. You do not get to meet the Captain one-on-one. He makes a nice speach to the entire crowd.
The menu in the Personal Choice dining rooms is exactly the same as the menu in the Traditional dining room and they do bring out the finery in all dining rooms and restaurants, and the waiters are in their dress uniforms.
