I don't understand the system that is used on Carnival. Will they automatically add so much per person per day to our card??? At the end may we pay that in cash or on our credit card? What is the amount and who do the tips go to, so I know not to leave anyone out. All my other cruises I left $$ in the envelopes at the end of the cruise. I save all my change and it is usually plenty if not more for my tips, so I want to make sure I save enough and have it with me to pay my bill! Thank you for the information!!!
Carnival tipping is "automatic" charged to the sign and sail card at end of cruise in a $10.00 rate per person. If you attached a credit card to your sign and sail, then that is the card that is charged. If a debit card- I believe all transactions must be closed on your account before end of cruise. I know the auto tip can be requested to be removed and tip the envelope way, what we chose was to leave auto tips on bill, and still hand out extra envelopes (you can get these at purser desk.)
According to Carnivals FAQ section:
$5.50 pp/pd for Dining Team Service (Headwaiter and Waiter)
$1 pp/pd for Bistro Service (Waiter/Cooks)
$3.50 pp/pd for Cabin Services (Cabin Steward)
Tipping the Maitre D' is strictly at guest's discretion, based upon services rendered. For guests who wish to extend this gratuity in cash, an envelope will be available on the last evening of the cruise. Bar service is an auto 15% added to bill, room service tip as you feel when food delivered. Hope this helps.
