Freestyle would work great. You could ask to be sat with someone else who is dining alone or with a table of six or eight. Sitting with a larger table almost assures you of not having to wait.
This would work best in the main dining rooms and not in the specialty restaurants where reservations are required.
Take care,
Mike

Dear Mike: Thanks! I didn't know you could ask to be seated at a large table when freestyle cruising. That's what I've always done before when cruising alone and never failed to find wonderful friendships. Then maybe someone from the big table would want to experiment with the specialty places. Am thinking of the Norwegian Dawn from NYC to Western C on 1/22/06. janet
Dear Mike, again thanks! Since the Dawn cruise is 11 days I'm confident I'll meet some fun people to hang out with. Different table every night is even better, although I will miss the delightful personal relationships we usually form with our wait staff. Best. Janet
